Suzanne Bedford
Lawson, Center Director and Teacher
Suzanne has been a professional actor since 1982. Originally from
Nebraska, Suzanne graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, MO. with
a BFA in Theatre Arts. Moving to NYC after graduation, Suzanne had a
successful musical theatre career. She played opposite of Tom Wopat as
the sexy starlet, Mallory, in City Of Angels on Broadway. Toured
nationally and internationally with Michael Crawford in the Music Of
Andrew Lloyd Webber. Off Broadway she worked with Tom Jones and
Harvey Schmidt on their new work, Colette Collage. She also has
worked in regional theatres across the country. Her national and
regional television commercials ranged from the latest toys to cars to
laundry soap. In 1997, her twin boys were born. Suzanne
decided to redirect her career into teaching and sharing her love of
theatre and music with children. She has taught acting classes for
children from ages 8 to 18. Suzanne has recently been awarded Music Together Certification Level I status, having demonstrated outstanding achievement in teaching, musicianship, program philosophy, and parent education. The award was granted by the Center for Music and Young Children in Princeton, NJ, Kenneth K. Guilmartin, Founder/Director. Suzanne lives in Mahopac and continues to
sing professionally in the area.
Laura D'Amico, Teacher
A Fox Lane graduate who completed her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Houghton College. She has also started classes toward a Master of Music degree in voice. Throughout the past five years she has performed in many choirs, operas and opera scences. Currently, aside from joining the Music Together team, she is a voice instructor in New Jersey at a dance and theatre school and would also love to establish her own private voice studio here in Westchester. Laura may be new to Music Together but she has been teaching and playing with children for years.
Tamara Acosta, Teacher
Tamara graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Music and from the New England Conservatory with degrees in vocal performance. After graduating, she moved to New York where she began her performance career. For over 10 years, Tamara traveled throughout the U.S. and Europe performing on many of the world’s great opera stages including, the Lyric Opera Chicago, Sarasota Opera, Opera Pacific and Santa Fe Opera. After the birth of her oldest son in 2003, she began her Music Together journey as a Music Together mom. She now lives in Katonah with her husband and two sons. She continues to perform and teach voice privately. Becoming a Music Together teacher has allowed her to combine her two greatest passions, children and music!
